Statement of Editorial Independence

As the sponsor and publisher of Frontiers: The Interdisciplinary Journal of Study Abroad, º«¹úÈý¼¶Æ¬is committed to providing the journal with the financial support and business decisions necessary for efficient management while upholding intellectual freedom and independent editorial decision-making.

As guided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)’s , we are committed to the following Principles of Editorial Independence:

1. Editorial decision-making processes are based on the quality of submissions and appropriate peer review, rather than on any political, financial, or personal influences from Forum staff or volunteer leaders. These decisions are made completely separately from decisions about our organization’s financial interests.
2. To safeguard this editorial independence, all decisions, concerns, or complaints about editorial decisions are handled within the editorial structures of Frontiers. These structures include the Editor and members of the Editorial Board.
3. Furthermore, no member of The Forum’s executive staff or volunteer leadership (Board of Directors and Council) shall get involved in, interfere with, or even comment on editorial decisions.

Failure to apply these principles would ultimately serve to undermine the integrity of Frontiers as a publication that advances knowledge and thought leadership on education abroad, an essential and valuable service to our profession.
